Bamboo Flores Project
Bamboo Flores Project
A leading local bamboo producer in Indonesia faces significant waste management challenges due to the high volume of bamboo byproducts (briquettes and sawdust) generated at its factory on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara. Typically discarded, this waste contributes to environmental degradation. This project aims to convert bamboo waste into biochar and bio-fertilizer, which will be distributed to local bamboo farming communities to enhance soil health and agricultural productivity. Additionally, the initiative will generate carbon credits, offering a sustainable financing mechanism for further expansion. By repurposing bamboo waste, this project not only supports sustainable agriculture and waste management but also creates new revenue streams for all stakeholders involved.
